Acclaimed San Antonio/TX prog/tech metal triumvirate, Spastic Ink, featuring guitarist/composer Ron Jarzombek, bassist Pete Perez, and drummer Bobby Jarzombek have signed a deal with Marquee Inc. for the release of their long awaited sophomore album, 'Ink Compatible', which is set for April 21. Marquee will handle Japan and most South East Asian territories while the rest of the world will be covered by the band's own EclecticElectric label in conjunction with various independent outlets and distributors.

Joining Spastic Ink on 'Ink Compatible' is Ron Jarzombek's long-time WatchTower bandmate, singer Jason McMaster, who provides lead vocals on 5 tracks. Additional support comes from Swedish vocalist Daniel Gildenlow (Pain Of Salvation), guitarist Marty Friedman (Megadeth, Cacophony), keyboardists Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, Yngwie Malmsteen), Jimmy Pitts (Scholomance, The Fractured Dimension), and David Bagsby (Xen, Patrick Moraz), bassists Michael Manring (Attention Deficit, Michael Hedges), Ray Riendeau (Halford, Machines Of Loving Grace), Doug Keyser (WatchTower), and Sean Malone (Gordian Knot, Cynic), and drummers Jeff Eber (Dysrhythmia) and David Penna (Static, Amphibians From Outer Space).

Wednesday, November 26, 2003 - Spastic Ink update
An update from the Spastic Ink website:

All tracks for "Ink Compatible" are finally done. Right now, we're going back and forth with CD-Rs in the mail trying to get the best possible mixes for all of the songs. The graphics are being finalized as we speak. Honestly, I want to release the CD ASAP because it's taken so long and I really want to get this material out there but we've decided to shop the album to see what's out there deal-wise. If no worthwhile offers come our way then I'm just going to release the CD on Mr. Kitty or Eclectic Electric and work with various distributors around the world. If we go the DIY route then we're looking at a January '04 release. If it weren't for the upcoming holidays, we'd be looking at a late November/December '03 release. To tide you over - here's track 1 'Aquanet'.
