Sunday, October 28, 2007 - New Rage album complete
Rage have completed work on their new album, Carved In Stone. Guitarist Victor Smolski has issued the following update:

"Hi friends, Victor here. The studiojob for the new Rage album Carved In Stone is completed now, and finally I can listen to all tracks of the new CD by my HiFi rack with a quiet conscience, and I can say it has exactly become what we figured out before: STRAIGHT ON THE KISSER! (maybe you have to stop after 2 - 3 songs, getting a cold beer for a rest period...).

From the beginning we decided to compose the songs for this CD more straight, concentrating on cool riffs and catchy melodies. Actually, with our new line-up it was easy to realize everything, as we pulled together with André perfectly! All the recordings with our co-producer, sound-engineer and almost fourth bandmember Charly Czajkowski runs perfectly, as well as the final mix with Charlie Bauerfeind. From my point of view I promise you brutal guitar riffs with fancy soli. In one song, I've hidden a modification of a real famous melody - the one who will first recognize this melody will get a present! At 'Open My Grave', my sitar-guitar came into operation, at 'Lord Of The Flies', I've contributed a phat keyboard-arrangement."

Wednesday, July 25, 2007 - Rage studio update
Update from Rage:

"At the moment, (frontman) Peavy (Wagner), (guitarist) Victor (Smolski) and (drummer) André (Hilgers) are working with high pressure on their new album, with the working title Carved In Stone.

'Carved In Stone' is also the title of a new song, a super hymn, which could open the live shows in future.

More titles are (under reserve): 'Open My Grave' (very heavy & dark), 'One Step Ahead', 'Long Hard Road' and 'Without You'.

Check out the new studio report with lots of photos at the Studio section."

Rage's new album is expected out through Nuclear Blast Records later this year.

Wednesday, December 6, 2006 - Rage Split With Drummer Mike Terrana
For a while there have been rumours about Mike leaving Rage, so now Peavy and Victor speak to the public:

"From now on we won't continue our collaboration with Mike because of personal and musical differences that have been existing for a while now and became unbearable.

This cut is definitely not easy for us - but to avoid damage to Rage we have no other choice.

Unfortunately, there's not much left from our former unity. A while ago comunication between Mike and us broke down completely, so we have to pull the emergency brake.

We decided to work with a new drummer in the future because we don't want to ruin it all to a point where there's no future at all. We want to keep our power and joy in music, so there's no other way.

We are aware how much this line up meant to you (and us) but that's life. A band, especially a three-piece, is like a relationship. Over the years we just drifted apart. We wish Mike all the best for his further career.

Nevertheless, there's a bright perspective in front of us: We definitely won't cancel a single show and are working intensely at the moment to present you a suitable new drummer soon. We have lots of plans for the next year , among others we'll play some exclusive orchestra shows for you.

We hope you all keep the faith in the future and promise to keep up our quality level to 100%

See ya soon! Rage on!

Yours, Peavy & Victor"

Wednesday, November 22, 2006 - Rage DVD details
Rage are set to release a new live DVD through Nuclear Blast in February 2007. The band has issued the following update:

"Now the particulars about the new Rage DVD, which presumably will be released by Nuclear Blast on 23rd of February 07 with the title Full Moon In St. Petersburg. Again it will be a double DVD with very long playing time, similar to the last Rage DVD, so value for money.

DVD 1 includes a complete concert Rage recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia, in front of almost 20,000 viewers in May 2006. The set consists of the highlights of the last album Speak Of The Dead and several oldies and approved live songs. The whole thing will be in 5.1 sound or in normal stereo sound. The concert is a unique adventure with an exceptional lightshow, and marking a great contrast to the last DVD show, which was recorded in intimate atmosphere in the Zeche Bochum. Additionally, the last two video clips of the band, a TV recording in Brazil and parts of the show Rage recorded on Masters Of Rock Festival 2006 in the Czech Republic, will also be on DVD 1.

DVD 2 consists of comprehensive bonus material. There's a full length documentationen of different days of show of the last Russian tour, where the concert for DVD 1 was recorded. You can see further live clippings. Moreover, there's a detailed documentation of the last European tour, with interesting and funny views into life on the road and backstage. Also, every band member has issued some documentations of privat things, like Victor's racing sport and his solo presentations, Peavy and his ice-age bone collection and his newest avocation, the casting of skulls, and Mike has administered a short drum workshop and his latest drum solo.

The first edition will be available in a special steelbook with 2 DVD's + audio CD, but also available as DVD or audio CD seperately.

The artwork is again designed by Anthony Clarkson, who was already responsible for the Speak Of The Dead cover."

Saturday, March 5, 2005 - Rage signs with Nuclear Blast
Rage have signed a long-term deal with Nuclear Blast Records. In an official statement, Peavy Wagner (vocals, bass) said, "After our fantastic anniversary tour we were convinced that we want to work with a label that pushes us forward with creative ideas and full power support. With this in our backs we can jump right into the making of our next album. We imagine to do something without stylistic changes but with a wider range of sound. After the good experiences with Victor's latest solo album we want to get the Whiterussian Symphonic Orchestra involved, similar to what we did a couple of years ago on 'Lingua Mortis'. This time the result will be a lot harder. That's how the new songs sound we recently wrote in first rehearsals. They blend in perfectly with our latest releases."

Wednesday, November 24, 2004 - Rage tour diary
Rage hit the road in Europe on November 19th to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. The band has posted a tour diary, which will be updated every three to four days. Here's the pre-tour entry from frontman Peavy:

"Finally the time has come, we're back on tour. After we made ourselves rare in the last time, now it's full blast Europewide. We worked long on our first DVD / double live album From The Cradle To The Stage and it turned out perfectly fine. We all are really proud about it and hope you'll have as much fun with listening and watching as we had with making it. Victor's completely fine again, he recovered from his disease and burns now the same like Mike and me to hit the stages and celebrate the Band's anniversary with you. We've created a fine "Best Of Show", with a nice stage design. All those who didn't see our shows in January, where we shot the DVD, and missed our acoustic set can look forward to the tour, as we've included this acoustic set into our show. (We couldn't put this on the DVD but we plan to record a special acoustic CD, not clear when...) Anyway, now you can get this LIVE.

On Thursday, the 18th of November, we hit the road. With us is our beloved crew Charly, Jesus and Holger. The Tour was booked by our new agency Dragon Prod., which did a fantastic job in close colaboration with Mike, who will road manage us again. So nothing can go wrong. We are ready, so see you soon!!!"
