Band Profile

What is your name and your current position in the band?

My name is Zoltán Váry and I'm drummer in the band.

How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?

It's a classic melodic hard rock music influenced by Queen,Journey,Whitesnake just to name a few.The members played in other type of bands in the past, for example I played the drums in a prog rock band in the middle of 80's,in a heavy/hard rock band in the 90's and in a modern rock band after the Millennium.

What is your latest album and why should people buy it?

Our first - and latest - album released early last year by the hungarian  "Hammer Records",nowadays people can buy it everywhere through AOR Heaven.
I believe it's a strong album with some kick-ass songs and great ballads so it's worth to try to taste it.

Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?

We've been formed about one and a half year ago but we know each other since decades expect the keyboard player because he is the lucky one at age 18.
The highlight was to share the stage with the legendary Jeff Scott Soto last year and hopefully many other will come!Fortunately there was no low point so far.

Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?

We are dreaming to became a well-known band all around the world with the help of our producer Beau Hill,I think our first steps are very promising so the sky's the limit!

Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?

There's not too much though we are relative new but to meet with Beau Hill was one of our favourite moment definitely!

How is the writing process in the band?

Everybody's writing songs in the band, our singer can play the drums the guitar and keyboard,I can play the guitar and our keyboard player too so if anybody come with an idea we can show each other how and what to play so it makes easier the writing process.

What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?

I think it's faith. We were on our way back home from a concert with friends when I was 13 and we decide to create a band so the next week everybody asked the parents to buy instruments.I never imagined myself to be another person then rock and roll star.

Do you have any idols? If yes, who?

Paul Stanley. He is the best frontman, songwriter and singer in the rock history in my opinion. He's in his best shape at age 57 and I hope he will never stop rockin'!

Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording?  If so, what made you regret it?

I'm fine with my career so far,I recorded with fantastic musicians,I rocked many places in the world and I hope with H.A.R.D. we'll have more opportunity on the future!

Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?

There's no one song in the world what everybody love or hate. It's impossible to create something what people will enjoy for sure. Some songs perfect in the studio but dead on stage.I had a big hit with my formerly band here in Hungary in the 90's but when the guitar player came with the idea we thought it wouldn't work then we had to change our mind.

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?

Girls like ballads and we love girls so we made them cryingJ

What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

It's dead and we have to find the solution because songwriters have to get paid in a way or another. On the other side it's great to see some classic bands still rockin' like AC/DC or KISS,playin' live is the best way to keep in touch with the fans and get some peanuts in the pocket.

What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?

I have NFC but these people destroyed the music business and somebody have to punish them!

Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?

Live for tomorrow!

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

Wake-up at 9/take a rich breakfast/write e-mails/go to gym/lay down a bit/get a poor lunch/go to rehears/take a good coffee/sex with the loved one/watch sport or read/go to sleep around midnight

What do you like to spend your time with besides music?

SEX!

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?

Too long to write it down.some real fights with "local heroes" because of f...g their girlfriends.drunk too much then destroy some hotel rooms.I think every musicians have a quite same crazy stories.

You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)
