Band page - The Void

Latest news
Tuesday, November 7, 2006 - News from The Void
The Void, the new band featuring members of Chris Caffery Band, Zandelle And October Thorns, is in pre-production for its debut album, to be released in the spring of 2007. Tracking will begin in November at DCity Studios on Long Island, with John Macaluso (formerly of Yngwie Malmsteen and Ark) on drums.

The Void 's sound has been described as "aggressive prog-metal with a focus on stripped-down songwriting." One exception will be an epic, classically inspired piece that borrows from the traditions of symphonic music while incorporating modern instruments and recording techniques. David Z from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and ZO2 will be providing a two-handed six-string bass section with Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) and Vitalij Kuprij (Artension) under consideration for their own separate contributions.

Demo tracks are available here.

The Void will make its live debut on November 12 at the Hook in Brooklyn as the opener for Zero Hour.
