Alleycat Scratch - Last Call
Alleycat Scratch is a cult band. Their only album release "Deadboys from Trash City" has been an out of print for years till Regeneration Records decided to re-release it 13 years later. There certainly was demand for Alleycat Scratch since the printed releases quickly sold out.

Demon Doll Records followed with another re-release of the album along with a few rarities CDs. "Last Call" is the final mark and a salute to the die-hard Alleycat Scratch fans. This is a fan only release because the sound quality of the 13 live songs is only decent bootleg quality. The highlight of the live audio tracks is Revenge recorded at Roxy October 1993.

The lemon has been squeezed a bit on "Last Call". The 3 "new" studio songs were also included on the "Encore" CD.  Grave Gina is a sheer class track with a great rhythm. Don't Forget Me has Singer Eddie Robison in fine form while the lyrics for Sick deal with why Alleycat Scratch broke up; They were fed up.

The value for money and justification of the release is the bonus DVD. The show from Roxy 1993 shows a band on top of their game. The band sounds great and Eddie Robison sounds fantastic. You can still sense some of the "classic sunset strip feel" from the concert even though the scene was dying. The band airs all 3 songs that were featured on the studio disc of "Encore". The cover version of Hanoi Rock's Malibu Beach Nightmare is stunning. There is another show from Mason Jar also recorded in 1993 plus rare behind the scenes footage.

Sadly this is all we get from Alleycat Scratch. The timing for the band for awful since they had the material and live they proved to be tight,

If you purchase this album along with "Deadboys in Trash City" through FNA Records you get a free Alleycat Scratch t-shirt so that is value for money.
