Waysted - The Harsh Reality
Waysted - the band founded by UFO bassist Pete Way is back with a new album. 11 new songs featuring original Waysted vocalist Fin.

"The Harsh Reality" is a straight forward album. This review will follow the leitmotif of the album by being very direct.

Waysted has gotten young guitarist Chris George, whose big chunky sound suits the English lads. Fin's voice is full and overall "The Harsh Reality" is wrapped up in a pompous sound. Despite being based in traditional Rock N' Roll Waysted has managed to mix in modern tones like on the bombastic Song for Steve.

File this under a "good record". There is a few misses like the blues song It Wasn't Me, but the excellent stuff like Propaganda, Long Time Dead, the title track and Handbags and Gladrags certainly outweighs the few misses and makes "The Harsh Reality" worth your time.

The only letdown is Pete Way doesn't play all the bass on the album. Pete Way is so busy with UFO that he got his tech Jason Poole to play some bass parts on the album. However, Pete Way has only contributed to writing Keepin' it Street and Song for Steve - so despite this being Pete's band one has to recognize the valuable contributions from mainly Fin and guitarist Chris George. "The Harsh Reality" is a strong album of honest British Rock N' Roll.
