Tuesday, October 25, 2005 - Frontiers sign Praying Mantis singer | Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of Tony O'Hora's debut solo album entitled "Escape into the Sun" on January 27th 2006
Tony O'Hora is best know as singer for Praying Mantis in their most successful albums "Forever In Time" and "Nowhere To Hide" and is now singer for Andy Scott's Sweet.
O'Hora's voice has been considered one of the trademarks of the excellence of the two Praying Mantis releases and in this new solo album O'Hora is able to make his talent shine once again. "I needed to take the time necessary to express the lyric and emotion. So although the recordings took quite a bit longer than we anticipated" say the British singer, "I am incredibly proud of this album and it contains the best performances I've ever recorded". · Discuss this news further (0) |
Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - Praying Mantis news | Almost three years after the successful European release of the "Nowhere toHide" album, still today regarded as their overall best, out of a careerspanning over 20 years, the Mantis are back with a brand new studio releaseentitled "The Journey Never Ends".
The album - contrary to what previously announced - features not one but twolead singers: JOHN SLOMAN (ex Uriah Heep, Lone Star and Gary Moore) andDOUGIE WHITE (ex Rainbow and currently with Yngwie Malmsteen) who has already played and toured with Mantis in the past years.
Still the trademark of the Mantis sound is there featuring intense and passionate hooklines, intriguing guitarwork and epic melodies.
