Skunk Anansie - Wonderlustre
The latest Skunk Anansie studio album dates back to 1999. After an 8 year hiatus the band broke back with a greatest hits album, which now is followed by an album with 12 fresh songs.

In 1995 Skunk Anansie debut album "Paranoid and Sunburnt" was released and the band was very successful spending total 141 weeks on the British album and singles charts. "Paranoid and Sunburnt" was aggressive and led by singer Skin's powerful vocals. The music became a bit mellower on "Stoosh" and "Post Orgasmic Chill".

This is a full blown reunion and "Wonderlustre" is in many ways the best possible record one could have wished for. Skunk Anansie seem to have found themselves easing down a bit and play a unique form of modern Hard Rock.

The militant singer Skin has gone a bit softer as she has grown older. However, Skunk Anansie has kept their power. The force is Skin vocals mixed with Ace's inventive guitar playing. Drummer Mark Richardson lays a solid foundation along with Cass on bass

The melodies are great. The Sweetest Thing and My Love will Fall are perfect examples of Skunk Anansie in the year 2010 playing rock with great melodies. The lead single My Ugly Boy picks up where the band left. Feeling the Itch is another prime example that the band has kept its hit magnetism.

Skunk Anansie was one of the best bands of the nineties. "Wonderlustre" regains faith in Skunk Anansie and foresees a second coming for the English band.
