Swingin' Thing - Desperate Livin'
There was no way that Swingin' Thing could have made it if they stayed in Detroit motor city. The artwork screams made in California - this kind of music could only be made in Hollywood in the 80's.

During the late 80's and early 90's Swingin' Thing was probably the most praised unsigned band. The band even toured Japan but unfortunately their music never got a proper album release till Demon Doll Records picked up this classic band.

"Desperate Livin'" takes the listener through the evolution of Swingin' Thing. Demon Dolls Records earlier released "The Black List" by Swingin' Thing, which was a punk Rock album. "Desperate Livin'" is a full blown sunny Glam metal album recorded when Swingin' Thing owned the strip.

Avenue Boys, On the Run, Supersonic Loverboy, Lets Do It With the Lights out and the excellent Groove of Love were all featured on Swingin Thing's first and rare release from Monster Productions. Swingin' Thing did write better songs and evolved as song writers and musicians.

"Desperate Livin''" contains some real treasures that would give any of the big names like Ratt and Poison run for their money. I want Your Body is Glam Metal to its perfection, hooks - sexy rhythm, great guitars and superb vocals. Pump is a great Kick ass rocker with big gang choirs. The album highlight is the power ballad Better Left unsaid, which is right up there with Every Rose has its thorn and Heaven etc. The song has everything; acoustic guitars, a catchy chorus and lots of emotion from singer Paul E. Bardot.

All in all this is a great party CD and a perfect testimony to a time when music was all about having fun.
