Synesthesia - 4 Song Demo
They are a trio from the Jersey/NYC area that plays a blend of prog metal and Radiohead styled experimentation to what they describe themselves as "atmospheric," providing the thick soundscapes involved.

Their music has laid back approach mixed in with a spontaneous hard-edged jam session, sort of the same way Opeth did on the Damnation album with clean guitars that provide a darkness to the overall dark vibe where occasional crunch tends to come out and cut through the more eased paced material like a jagged knife, particularly found in the jazzy "Small Resurgences" as well as "Falling Through" where you can tell at times they have the room to jam, but don't generally go overboard for the demo's sake. For the last two tracks, "Cusp" and "From Dark to Light" they tend to stay within the mellow pace.

Although short, you can tell that thee guys have the right idea, the effects used in the production such as reverb, tremolo, phasing, and so forth provide the sub-psychedelic and experimental atmosphere, put them in a large studio and they will go berserk, I can see a very discreetly recorded record in these guys future.

At this time according to a New Jersey Musician's guide, Synesthesia is looking for a new lead singer to front the material, which is needed; the guys should hang onto their musical chops and provide the right frontman to this project. In the end, these four songs show the potential of this band down the road.
